WELCOME MESSAGE

His Excellency Philip Sealy
Ambassador, Permanent Representative
Ambassador Philip Sealy              The Coat of Arms

To the visitors to this web page of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Nations, New York, permit me to extend a very warm welcome. I express the hope that you will find here not only timely and relevant information about Trinidad and Tobago in general, but also be able to readily ascertain principled positions of policy being advanced by Trinidad and Tobago within the United Nations on a wide range of global issues. Such issues as environmental degradation, endemic poverty, disease, under-development, intolerance, terrorism and the illicit proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, all pose a serious threat to our well-being and the very survival of our planet, and necessitate a sustained effort on the part of the international community.

Through the promotion of collective endeavour within the context of the United Nations, the universal forum for all States whether big or small, developed or developing, Trinidad and Tobago strives to work towards building a better and brighter future for all nations and all peoples in peace and prosperity.
